Google Cache Update Frequency

The updating of Google's cache can be very important for a sites placement. How often any why they update the cache is a secret that Google keeps to them self, but I have my theories.

My Theory

I think there are three man factors that go into how often a page's cache is update in Google.

Updated Content Frequency

If Google does not see any changes when it comes back to your site/page it might take that into its calculations for how often it decides to come back. I am considering testing out putting the date and time on each page it give it some elements of change.

Links/PageRank

A sites overall importance according to Google surely has some relevence in how often they crawl your site and therefor how often they can update their cache.

RSS Feeds

Having an RSS feed on a page tells both people and search engines that this page has content that is updated on a regular bases.
