Link Seduction

Its common practice to identify sites that link to your competitors and get them to link to you as well. This helps in many ways from getting you into the right neighborhood and increasing your authority.

One addition to this I didn't think of till now is that it also removes authority from your competitors. Pagerank is divided and distributed to all links from a given page. Adding your link to a page that your competitors have links from would further divide the PageRank that your competitors receive. In a way you are seducing the PageRank away from your competitors.

So this leads me to a new idea, link seduction. Going through the links of a competitors website to identify where you can also get links and steal away some of your competitors authority. Even if the PageRank that you get from these links is only a little, your also weakening your competition.
